1. I have a nut allergy. Do your goods contain nuts?

Yes, all goods are produced in a kitchen that works with nuts and nut products, gluten, dairy, and eggs.

When you order from us, you are doing this entirely at your own risk.

2. How do I place an order?

Step 1: Select a product from our Shop menu or view all the options in our menu by clicking on the SHOP menu.

Step 2: When you have decided on your cake, click on the ‘Add to Cart’ button, and either continue shopping or go to your cart by clicking on the shopping cart icon

Step 3: All the items you have selected are displayed on this screen. Click on the ‘Proceed to Checkout’ button.

Step 4: Fill out Billing and Shipping details.  Select the Shipping method by clicking on one of the radio button options. Collection: Collecting at The Irene Village Market OR Weight shipping: Your order will be delivered via courier service. Please note we currently only deliver in the Gauteng region. For all other regions within South Africa, please Contact Us for a personalized delivery quote.

Step 5: Place Order. The website will direct you to PayFast to make payment. Follow the payment instructions carefully.

3. Can I collect my cake?

We have two options –

1.  Courier Delivery:
By ordering your Christmas cake through this website, and selecting ‘Weight Shipping’, your order will be delivered via courier service at an extra charge. Delivery lead time: 3-7 working days.

2.  Collection:
By ordering your Christmas cake through this website, and selecting ‘Collecting at The Irene Village Market’, your order can be collected from The Irene Village Market. Address: 7 Nelson Rd, Sunlawns AH, Olifantsfontein, 0062.

Please note: Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Irene Village Market do not have confirmed market dates.

4. I need to cancel my order.

We offer a full refund if you cancel your order within 24 hours from ordering it.

Please email us your order number to request cancellation.

5. Would you cover my cake with fondant?

No, unfortunately we don’t do decoration of cakes.

6. Do you bake Gluten-free Christmas cakes?

Yes, per special request.  Please email us at info@ilovechristmascake.co.za

7. Can I order now and pay later?

No.  All orders need to be paid for upfront.

8. What is the best way to treat my cake once I receive it from you?

Make sure to follow instructions on label insert.  Pour extra brandy to taste on the cake and cover with foil.  (This applies to 2kg, 1.6kg, and 1kg Christmas Cake sizes) Store in an airtight container.   Sprinkle with brandy every few weeks.  If no brandy is used, Christmas Cake should be kept in the deep freeze until required.  It can freeze for at least 12 months.  Thaw, and sprinkle with brandy.

9. How far ahead of time should I order my cake?

The earlier the better.  We only bake a certain amount per season. (1 June – 30 November)

Orders are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis and are limited to stock availability.
